Jasmine hill interview
1) What can you remember about the baby boom time period?
She was born in 1940 so wasn’t a part of it but she knew people that were. She says that most of them were hippies and try drugs because that when drugs were new to people.
2) Could you tell me the impact the television had on American culture?
She said it’s been could but it’s been bad also because kids are growing up to fast. But it’s good because it brings us news fast.
3) What can you remember about the presidential debates of Kennedy and Nixon 1960?
That was the first time she voted it was for Kennedy. She came to the south and then black people could not vote like that in the south. She had to do test such as tell me the declaration of independence. Were as the whites could jus sign up and vote.
4) Did you play apart in the civil rights movements?
Yes she did her in her school did walk down the streets and sit ins. She went to jail for 6 days her mom and dad didn’t like it but she did it because she thought it was the right thing to do.
5) What do you remember about space race and what were your thoughts on this?
She remembers the first sent monkeys to the moon the they put the first man on the moon.
6) How did you react about the mlk assassination?
She was teaching she by then she was very mad because she said he had done so much good and he would not get to see all he had done. She didn’t think that anyone cared about people as much as he did.
7) What were your thoughts on how bush reacted to 9 11?
She thought he was slow moving and doesn’t know another way he could have went about things but know there was a better way.
8) How did you feel about the 2000 presidential election and its outcome?
She said she couldn’t remember much about she knew that something wasn’t fair with the votes.
9) What good things did cater do for U.S. during his time in office?
She said when history goes down we will find that he was one of the best in office. He was a good man and he did a lot of good things for us and she thinks he will be on e of the unsung presidents.
10) What impact did the assassination of Kennedy have on you?
She was very mad because she said he was the president the had.

  1. Your Grandmother was a great person to interview. I especially like her response to the Carter question. Do you think she would be willing to come speak to one of my classes about her experiences?

    Some small errors in the post, but the interview is great. 28/30 points for this part of the assignment.
